Ingredients for kheer (Credit: kalyan) With Diwali around the corner and preparations well under way, a bowl of rice kheer is just the thing we need to remind us of all the goodies that will be prepared on Diwali. Here is a recipe for making kheer in a jiffy.
Ingredients:
1 cup long-grain rice (washed and dried)
1 cup condensed milk
½ cup sugar
3-4 cups of milk
1 tbsp raisins
1 tbsp toasted almonds
½ tbsp elaichi powder
Method:
- Boil the rice and milk on a medium fire until the rice is completely cooked, stirring frequently, so that the milk does not stick and burn at the bottom of the vessel.
- Add the condensed milk, sugar, raisins and almonds. Stir till the sugar is dissolved and the mixture thickens. Add the elaichi and serve.
