Scrumptious keema with a sprinkling of gram (Credit: daxiang) Cooked in a delicious spice blend, keema pao is a dish that you’re surely going to like. Scoop up generous helpings of keema with a pao or make a grilled sandwich with keema filling, this keema dish is versatile and ideal for breakfast or lunch.
Ingredients:
500 g mutton keema
2 onions – sliced
2 tbsp garam masala
1 tbsp coriander seeds
1 tbsp fennel seeds
3 tbsp dry coconut – grated and roasted
1 green chilli
1 small piece of ginger
4-5 cloves of garlic
1 tomato – sliced
½ tbsp red chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1 tsp garam masala
3 tsp oil
Method:
- Grind together a sliced onion, the garam masala, coriander and fennel seeds, coconut, chilli, coriander leaves, garlic, ginger and tomato, to a smooth paste.
- Heat the oil in a non-stick pan and sauté the remaining onion slices.
- Add salt, chilli and turmeric powder and keema. Cover and cook for a few minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add a little water and cook till done.
- Dry out the water and sprinkle garam masala powder.
- Serve with pao or grill it into a sandwich.
